Maddak & Morph Wheels
  Most Inspirational Client Contest Winners
2013

Winners of the Maddak & Morph Wheels Most Inspirational Client Contest were announced in December 2013. One grand prize winner and 4 runner-up winners were selected in a random drawing by Maddak Inc. Prizes were awarded to both the nominees and the nominators.

Grand Prize Winner

Courtney Sanchelli Submitted by Kristina Zusi, LPN, Loving Care Agency
She inspires me every day. She wakes up and sits in her wheelchair and goes to public school where she is a senior getting ready to graduate. She rolls through the hallways with a smile saying hello to everyone. She doesn’t let her disability get her down.

Courtney currently has Frog Leg Wheels with a suspension and pushing her in and out of the van is so difficult. These foldable wheels would be smoother and easier for storage when she is not in her chair.

Runner-Up Winners

Kristian Champion Submitted by Amber Ward, OT, Carolinas Medical Center
Submitted by Amber Ward, OT, Carolinas Medical Center - She is a Miss Wheelchair pageant winner, a motivational speaker, and works for a non-profit. She is not limited by her disability at all, and is an amazing person.

Kristian travels, uses an ultra-lightweight manual wheelchair, and a set of Morph™ Wheels would help with convenience and function.

Terrance HarrelsonSubmitted by Kristin Battin, PT, Kissito PACE Inc.
Terrance is an outstanding accounts payable manager with our company who has overcome significant odds to become the person he is today. At the age of 29, he was in a motor vehicle accident in which he sustained a complete T-10 spinal cord injury after he was ejected from the vehicle and the vehicle landed on top of him. After months of rehabilitation and beginning life ‘over’, Terrance returned to Ferrum College to receive his bachelor’s degree and was awarded the ‘Outstanding Student’ award upon graduation. Terrance’s life is full with his loving wife, his four year old twins and his commitment to being a very involved father. He could have chosen a different path; one filled with anger and bitterness. However he chose to be a positive role model for other spinal cord injured individuals and a leader at work and in the community. Terrance is an inspiration to us all at work and in the community with his gracious attitude and ‘can do’ personality despite all of the physical obstacles in his life.

As an account executive for our corporation, Terrance dresses to the ‘nines’ each work day and takes pride in his appearance. When transferring into and out of his vehicle with his non-foldable wheels he frequently has to cover his shirt and pants with a towel to avoid getting dirt marks on his clothing. Being able to fold the wheels makes them easier to get inside the vehicle having to worry about his clothes getting dirty. Terrance is also an active member of the community and travels a lot with his family. By utilizing Morph™ Foldable Wheels he will be able to pack more equipment that is needed with 4 year old twins.

Chris Hughes Submitted by Frances Hughes
Chris has secondary progressive MS and is in a wheelchair. He works every day for the State of Tennessee. It is very difficult for him because of severe back pain. He refuses to let the MS change the way he wants to live. He has worked so hard and got his degree in music business from Belmont University, but was only able to work in the music industry for 2 years. He got his degree in computer programming from Tennessee Tech. Every day is a struggle for him. He always solves the problems of other people. He is always ready to help other people any way he can. I admire and respect him so much. He is the kindest person that I know. He is a great example for other handicapped people.

A set of Morph™ Wheels would make it easier for him to get around. It would make it easier for him to travel and visit different places. It would make transporting his chair easier. I also believe that he would be an excellent representative for the Morph™ Wheels.

Amanda PerlaSubmitted by Corey Sharrow, SMR, Mobility Medical Equipment
I am a TBI survivor and Amanda is an SCI survivor who over the past 5 years has been a very inspiring part of my recovery although our injuries are on different ends of the spectrum. Her strong will and determination to never give up has driven me to do several things I was told I would never do again, and seeing her do things that I am still trying to do on my own is very inspiring to me.

I believe that a set of Morph™ Foldable Wheelchair Wheels would be very helpful to her on her road to recovery. They are much easier for a paraplegic to handle than others making getting in and out of a car much simpler and would help her accomplish more.
